Life continues on ....

Congrats mother bird!

Congratulations to my mother bird!  She passed the CLEP test today.  I am very proud of her and really didn't have any worries about her passing.  I support all she does and when I received a text message, "I passed, I passed" ... it made me feel good.  WAY TO GO MA MA MA MAH!

February in Denver

Yes, one day can be 45 and sunny and the next 25 and snowing.  Well, it happens to be 30 degrees right now with snow.  Not that I care, I live here but it sure would be nice to not have to wear a coat outside EVERY morning during the winter months and have the mornings sunny and 65-70 degrees.  I guess when summer comes, that will give me something to write about, the heat.

Change of plans

We leave for Costa Rica in 86 days.  US Airways changed their schedule, making our return very long.  We leave San Jose at 2:35 p.m. and arrive Charlotte (4 hour flight) at 8:45 p.m.  Well, there are not later connections to Denver so we will overnight in Charlotte.  The connection flight leaves the next day at 1:10 p.m., getting us to Denver at 3:15 p.m.  It was be another night in a hotel traveling, which I don't mind, I just wish they had casinos in Charlotte!

The boeing 757

The plane I really like, although has been in service for along time, is the B757-200.  The look, the way it flies, I just love it.  So, here is to the B757-200!

90 days

Yes, it is 90 days until we depart for Costa Rica.  For those who know me (us), it is a destination, not for everyone, but we love it.  Just the warm, humid air, the beach, the tranquility, BRING IT ON.  We are excited this time as we get 2 full weeks on the beach (http://www.casafiestacostarica.com/) and then will drive up and stay at Arenal Volcano for 2 nights and end our trip in San Jose.  The hotel in San Jose has a CASINO, a hilton and a beautiful hotel.  I am excited and just read in Travel and Leisure that Puerto Viejo is one of the 40 top beach destinations.  Time to buy rental property!  If you look at this map, on the right side, south of Limon, you will see Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, THAT is where we stay!

Resolution

I have failed on my new year resolution of blogging everyday!  Whoops!

First time

I received a box in the mail today from my mom.  It was filled with Valentine's Day goodies and I was so touched, this is the first box she has sent where she specifically included Ed.  She sent 2 of everything with a card of his own and everything.  I send her a big thank you text as it was very thoughtful.  I appreciate my mom.

ReGena

I have a unique and real friend, her name is ReGena.  She is a person who I would describe as reliable and dedicated.  She is true, one I hold close in my heart.  I choose my friends VERY closely and don't really have a lot, I can count on one hand how many friends I have.  I appreciate her kindness, loyalty, acceptance and love.

Missing my mother bird

I have to admit, I miss my mother bird.  I don't function the same when she is not part of my daily routine.  I don't like it and I am having issues coping!  I go on, just as I always have ... but ... I need my mother bird's wings to guide me when my wings become weak.

Sarah's estate

The courts in Florida have now named Ed as the trustee to Sarah's estate.  He now is the one who holds the title to benefits on her behalf.  I say this because there is a large settlement that could be granted.  I am not sure how it would be if this happens, I have tried but can't understand being awarded millions of dollars.  The process is going forward and we now know why Sarah told us to cancel and not to acquire any further insurances, etc.  I believe she knew (she got one settlement already) there were great things ahead of which she could share.  She was unable to be here for the ending processes but it would be living our lives as we want, all in the wonderful name of the sweet and loving Sarah.

1000 places

I was advised today to keep a daily journal entry when I am feeling my mind race in 1,000 different directions.  I have to say, while I can be in 1,000 different places in my mind, I can also be current and involved in what I am doing.  The journal will hopefully track my never ending thoughts.  I am not sure because once I start writing (which I used to do but stopped), I am sure I will be thinking about what I could have written along with what I did write.  Hmm, that would make my mind in 1,001 places.  I am frustrated.

Jessica

Today was the first day I was able to spend with our new supervisor.  She comes from Buffalo, New York and as I see it, she seems to see the aggressive and on the go work ethic I possess.  I talked with her and she really does seem as if she will be good for first shift.  I hope she can make changes that will enable everyone to work equally.  So, that is that, however my mother bird will never be replaced.  I sometimes look in the supervisor's office and think I will see her there but reality soon sets in.  I welcome Jessica and hope the best for her as she begins her career at DH.   

Lazy day

I didn't leave the apartment today.  It was nice to not put my contacts in, wear my glasses and just mill around.  I took a snooze, was online and even watched some TV.  It was a nice day!

12th Avenue

Ok, I have wrote about this on Facebook but here I go again.  When I drive from Lincoln east on 12th avenue, it seems there are SO MANY people on bikes, it is almost scary.  These people think they own the road (although I know I must share) and it drive me CRAZY.  I chew them out, tell them to MOVE OVER and all sorts of stuff while trying to drive along with them.  I would be scared to death if I were one of them but they don't seem to care.  No wonder we get so many bike vs. auto in the ER at work.  I understand why because I have almost been the "auto" in this situation.
